Have you ever REALLY thought of all of the wonderful promises Heavenly Father has made to us? In primary we teach it in simple terms as a two-way promise. We keep our covenants and He refills our tank each time we partake of sacrament and renew our covenants.
In Elder Erich W. Kopischke‘s talk about the mental health struggles that he and his family have experienced, he talked about the promises Heavenly Father has offered us:
“I testify that Jesus Christ is our Savior. He knows us. He loves us, and He will wait on us. During our family’s trials, I have come to know just how close He is. His promises are true:
Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand, …
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.
Knowing how firm our foundation is, may we ever joyfully declare:
The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose
I will not, I cannot, desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, …
I’ll never, no never, no never forsake!”
